Plant in well drained soil with the crown 2 inches below soil level. Plant in full sun for the best color results, except the South, where some afternoon shade can be tolerated. Water well and fertilize when planting in the ground or a pot, and let it dry out about 6 inches down between all waterings.
Cut back once branches have died back leaving a few inches of old growth under new sprout emerge in late Spring.
